This has also been a very active time for the collaborative agreement between GVEP International and the Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy.
Our Partnership Meetings coincided with the Ashden Awards Winners Week for 2008. GVEP International offers ongoing support to Ashden Awards winners, both through technical assistance and business development support, such as was provided to the 2007 winner Mohamedrafik Parpia from ZaraSolar, who received business plan development assistance.

To kick start support for the new winners, Kavita Rai, Programme Manager, Hari Natarajan, South Asia Manager, and Mahesh Gohill, East Africa Manager, ran a brainstorming session with the finalists, allowing them to share their experiences and learn from one another.
They also carried out one-to-one sessions with the winners to identify areas where the Ashden Awards, GVEP International, and other partners can provide support to enable further success and scale-up of their projects.
