ADEID - Welcome to the Cameroonian Micro Hydro Network!

ADEID has been working on small hydropower since 1990 and during the recent international seminar on "Micro Hydropower in Central Africa – Innovations and Exchanges" held at the end of October 2006, a micro-hydro network was created.Read more> (French and English website)

BlueEnergy's success in Mexico and Central America

Blue EnergyThe primary mission of blueEnergy, a recent GVEP Partner, is to provide a low-cost, sustainable solution to the energy needs of underdeveloped communities in Mexico and Central America. BlueEnergy seeks to address their energy needs through the development, construction, installation, and maintenance of hybrid wind/solar energy systems using locally made micro wind turbines. K.S.S./R.O.S.E and the village of Kanda, Northern India

Kurmanchal Seva Sansthan / Rural Organisation for Social Elevation (K.S.S./R.O.S.E.) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization located in the village of Kanda in Northern India . It works at the grassroots level, appealing to members of the community to become active participants in developing a better life for themselves. It is the primary goal of K.S.S./R.O.S.E. to elevate the health, education and quality of life of the rural poor in this region while maintaining the cultural integrity and ecological balance. Solar Energy For Africa Ltd (SEFA Ltd) is a private company which purchase, sells, installs, maintains and services all types of solar energy/power systems, equipment and appliances in Uganda in particular, and the East African region in general. Peter Davies We were pleased to announce at CSD 15 in New York a new 4-year programme of support for GVEP International. This follows 5 years of DFID support for GVEP, since its launch at WSSD in 2002. Over that time we have provided £900,000 of grant money and the full time services of a senior energy adviser for 3 years, a considerable investment. Since WSSD, GVEP has established for itself a global reputation with a brand name and an impressive partnership base covering all regions of the world.
We believed in 2006 that GVEP needed to move beyond advocacy and the sharing of knowledge and experience that had characterised its early development. We and others were eager to see tangible impacts on the ground in some of the poorest countries in the world. This required a new direction backed by serious resources.
The founding of GVEP International in 2006 with its new vision of creating energy supply chains based on sound business principles made good sense to us. The G8 commitment of $30m by Russia for work in Africa, together with the interest of other official donors, has created a wonderful new opportunity for an effort that will achieve real and lasting benefits.
