GVEP International Project
- Aims
- Peru attended the 2003 GVEP regional workshop in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. A multisectoral group formed by representatives from the Ministries of Energy, Agriculture, Health and Economy, private sector and NGOs attended the workshop and a draft action plan was drawn up and presented. In 2007, the Peruvian Government asked GVEP International to set up a platform to coordinate their renewables and biofuels energy strategy.

The objective was for this platform to map existing activities in these fields, identify future needs and develop a common strategy between all stakeholders.
Peru has now also established a GVEP International Coordination Platform with the support of the Interamerican Development Bank which will be putting in place a Project Team during 2008 to implement the recommendations of the Platform in the shape of an energy strategy for renewables and biofuels.
