- Full Description
-
Over 1000 proposals were received from 28 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean in categories including renewable energy, energy efficiency and access to energy.
Twenty-five winners were selected including proposals originating in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Peru, St Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The jury, made up of representatives of the contest sponsors GVEP International, GTZ and the Inter-American Development Bank, selected the winning projects based on the criteria of innovation, financial sustainability and replicability, among others.
The winners will be announced in each country over the next month. Please find at the very bottom of this page the links to the launched projects and check this page regularly as every week new projects will be added.
Over the next two years, the IDEAS contest sponsors will work closely with the winners, providing technical advice and access to other experts, institutions and possible financial partners. The goal is to enable the winners to turn their idea into a commercially viable solution to the energy problems facing the region.
