Burkina Faso
The GVEP process in Burkina Faso started with the Douala regional workshop, in July 2003. The government took the decision, to elaborate Priority Actions Program (PAP) for 2004-2006, in order to highlight the major actions that contribute to poverty reduction. After the Mbour Session (June 2005) a decision was agreed to set up one Multi-Sectoral Committee, involving representatives from all the key Government agencies as well as NGO and private sectors. This Committee is playing the role of national focal point, developing and promoting one national programme on Energy for Poverty Reduction with inputs from all the various global/regional initiatives (GVEP, EUEI, MEPRED, etc.).
