MEPRED Activities in Niger
11 December 2007- Since 2005 Niger has been driving the MEPRED project, which aims to establish a profitable programme of access to modern energy services (PRASE as it is known in French). GVEP Niger Project Approved
April 2005 -The GVEP Niger Project for the preparation of a National Energy Action Plan has now been approved by the World Bank. This will allow the Nigerian Government to develop a specific action plan to develop energy policy to meet the priority development aims for the Nigerian rural population including the supply of drinking water, access to health and education services, and rural development.
