Sri Lanka

An initial workshop, assisted by USAID, was held in May 2004. The workshop identified a number of sectors for priority input including Agriculture, Industry, Transport, Education, Health and Domestic. Specific areas for technical assistance were identified including:

Development of a GVEP Working Group and secretariat action plan preparation working, monitoring and reporting procedures;
  • Support to identify potential projects and develop a prioritisation methodology;
  • Facilitation of a multi-stakeholders workshop;
  • Identification and recruitment of action plan consultants.
There was no follow up to this activity and the Technical Secretariat is working on a re-engagement strategy for Sri Lanka.
