GVEP International Team

Sarah Adams - CEO
Prior to joining GVEP International in February 2006, Sarah Adams was the International Partnerships Manager for the Access Programme set up by Electricite de France (EDF). Over the 12 years she spent with EDF, she worked on a wide range of energy projects including building sustainable energy solutions for rural and slum areas in Latin America, Asia and Africa. She also interacted with a wide range of public and private sector partners and established the International Working Group on Monitoring and Evaluation of Energy for Development (M&EED).

 

Anthony Oyo - Product Manager
Anthony Oyo has 16 years international and UK experience of engineering and commercial management, and supply chain development in the energy and water sectors. He has worked for the World Bank, DFID, Practical Action and until recently was running his own renewable energy design, installation and consultancy company. He will lead the development and introduction of the range of targeted energy access products that GVEP International will deliver over the next three years, including funding mechanisms and knowledge management tools and services.

Kavita Rai - Programme Manager
Kavita Rai has extensive international experience
working in the field of energy and has a Phd in
Development Studies. She has been involved for many years in promoting grass roots projects
to ensure long-lasting access to clean energy. Kavita will be responsible for running GVEP International’s regional programmes, will be working closely with project implementers and private sector companies, and will be supporting Wendy Annecke with the monitoring and evaluation of GVEP International programmes.

 

Staale Brinchmann - Finance Manager
Staale Brinchmann has worked as the Financial Analyst of the Business Advisory Services Programme at the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development and has a BA in International Business and German and an MSc in Development Studies. He will be responsible for the implementation of financial management and reporting as well as procurement procedures and plans for GVEP International and it's hub offices and local partners.

 

Wendy Annecke - Reporting Monitoring & Evaluation Manager
Wendy Annecke is an international expert on Monitoring and Evaluation with extensive experience in the field. She holds a doctorate in Economic History and Development Studies. Wendy participated in the M&EED International Working Group on M&E for three years. She will conduct the M&E for the DEEP Project and will work to improve GVEP International reporting.


Georgia Berry – Communications Officer

Georgia Berry has an MSc in International Public Policy and experience as an assistant Office Manager for a wireless communications start up. She has spent considerable time in Africa and Latin America, and speaks French and Spanish. She will work with the rest of the team, and our partners, to enable increased global outreach of GVEP International principles and activities.


Laure Ego – Knowledge Management Manager
Laure Ego is responsible for the GVEP International website, the newsletters and the partner database. She is French, has a marketing, communications and languages (English, Spanish and German) background, and is the person to contact if you want to become a GVEP International partner, or to learn more about the GVEP International website.


Hari Natarajan – South Asia Regional Manager
Hari Natarajan has over 10 years of experience in the energy sector, of which 5 years has been in the renewable energy sector. In his most recent role as the General Manager of the Renewable Energy at IT Power India, he has been involved in several projects addressing technology, policy, investment and risk management issues and also has experience in business development, project management and fund management. He will work closely with partners to develop and promote energy-access activities in South Asia, as well as contribute to GVEP International global strategies.

Mahesh Gohil - East Africa Regional Manager
Mahesh Gohil is a widely experienced enterprise development specialist, who has worked in the field of enterprise promotion, developing sustainable livelihoods programmes enhancing managerial skills, building capacities of organizations involved in SME development, socio - economic development and preparation of corporate business strategies. Mahesh will be focusing in particular on the implementation of the Developing Energy Enterprises Project (DEEP).

 

R Mugo wa Karanja – Finance and Procurement Manager, East Africa Region
R. Mugo wa Karanja has been a senior financial management advisor, highly experienced at providing financial and systems design and monitoring services throughout Kenya and elsewhere. He has headed both KPMG’s Information Technology and Accounting Services Departments and is considered an expert in accounting for multi-donor projects as well as implementing computerised accounting systems. He has extensive expertise and experience in development within the East African region with a wide range of development partners including USAID, SIDA, The World Bank, UNDP, Slovak Aid and others. R Mugo will work as Finance and Procurement Manager in our East Africa Office.
