Partnership Board
The GVEP Partnership Board serves in an advisory capacity to provide guidance to the Trustees and Management Team of GVEP International as well as to other donor organizations and partners.
With regard to GVEP International, Partnership Board responsibilities include providing programme vision and leadership, advising on programme content, assisting in achieving programme balance across regions and thematic activities, providing policy guidance, assuring programme integrity, and providing outreach to GVEP networks and partners. The Partnership Board assists in identifying and securing financing, and appointing working groups, as necessary, to address specific topics or issues of interest to GVEP and its partner organizations. The Partnership Board does not engage in the day-to-day operations of GVEP International and has no fiduciary authority or responsibility.
For donor organizations, partners and the broader international community of development actors, the GVEP Partnership Board provides outreach and communications on the importance of energy access in poverty reduction goals and activities, and the need for technology neutrality in programme and project activities. The emphasis is put on market based solutions, the importance of energy in cross sector activities (agriculture, education, health, SME, telecom, water, etc) and in achieving the Millennium Development Goals. The Partnership Board provides guidance and advice on programmatic and project investments by donors, partners and the international community, and promotes donor coordination on energy-poverty activities.
